DESCRIPTION:The walls of open containers are generally made of corrugated steel. The floor is in wood.
It has the following distinct typical structural features. The roof consists of removable arches and a removable canvas. The door beam can be rotated outwards.
These two structural features greatly simplify the container packing and unpacking process. In particular, it is very easy to pack and unpack the container over or through the doors by crane or crab when the roof is open and the door crosspiece is turned outwards.
It should be noted, however, that the purpose of the roof curves of an open container is not only to support the canvas, but also to contribute to the stability of the container. Flatracks are therefore best suited for heavy loads.
Lashing rings, to which the load can be attached, are installed on the upper and lower side rails and on the corner posts. Fixing rings can withstand loads of up to 1000 kg.
Typical open top container dimensions are 20' and 40'.
USE:Open-top containers are used for all types of general cargo (dry cargo). Its main uses are as follows:
-
Packing and unpacking from above or through the doors by crane or crab;
-
High load.
